General Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. Four years experience in professional accounting or experience in a related field. Prefer university or governmental experience. A good knowledge of fund accounting and data processing is beneficial. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:
Performs highly advanced specialist duties for the People Operations – Payroll department. To perform difficult accounting work involving performance of complex accounting tasks requiring the use of considerable independent judgment and a thorough knowledge of bookkeeping principles.
This is a part-time, temporary position expected to end on or before 08/31/2025. Continuation of this position is contingent upon continued funding.Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only):
Performs highly advanced specialist tasks including reconciliation of discrepancies and making required corrections. Data entry, correction and preparing calculations for payroll. Confers with staff on program issues to identify and implement solutions. Prepare and Audit vacation payoffs, prior service, and any other calculations for adjustments. Prepares and reconciles state reporting monthly and mid-month. Other responsibilities include tasks such as taking trial balances and computing payroll deductions, etc. Performs other related duties as assigned.
