Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist (Entry Level)

Reports To: Accounting Manager

About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing finance team in Syracuse, NY. This is an entry-level opportunity, ideal for someone looking to start a career in accounting or finance. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong sense of responsibility, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to getting the job done right.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices and ensure timely and accurate payments
• Match purchase orders, invoices, and receipts for accuracy
• Assist in month-end closing and reporting processes
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies
• Maintain organized and up-to-date accounts payable records
• Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve issues
• Assist with audit support and other financial documentation as needed
• Continuously look for ways to improve processes and efficiency

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships or part-time work in accounting a plus)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems
