Job Description:

The Iowa State University Athletics Department is seeking hard working, responsible, motivated candidates for an entry-level, post-graduate associate position supporting the Student-Athlete Development and Letterwinners Engagement units. This position will provide exposure to professional aspects of collegiate athletics activities in student-athlete development in a progressive learning mode.

What you'll do:

  • Assist in the daily operations, programming and initiatives that fall within the Student-Athlete Development pillars: Connection, Character Enhancement, Civic Engagement, and Career Readiness
  • Co-teach a course for incoming freshman to support the transition to Iowa State and the student-athlete experience
  • Assist with coordinating community service activities
  • Assist in evaluating and building programs aimed to grow engagement with current student-athletes
  • Establish and maintain an environment conducive to the welfare, personal development, and academic success of the student-athletes
  • Establish and maintain effective interactions with students, colleagues, university staff and administrators, alumni, and the public
  • Maintain accurate data for sustainability of the athletic alumni database
  • Assist in planning and implementing reunions and special events
  • Perform all duties in adherence with NCAA, Big 12, and university policies

The ideal candidates will possess strong communication skills, ability to work collaboratively, be highly organized, and comfortable presenting/teaching. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body. This position works primarily daytime office hours but requires the ability to work at assigned evening and weekend events.

Position Details : Structured similar to a post-grad internship. $14-$15/hour plus overtime pay; receives paid time off; full benefits package.
