Job Description

Terravita Smiles is excited to announce a new job opening for a dedicated and skilled  Lead Dental Assistant. This part-time position offers an opportunity to be part of a dynamic dental team dedicated to providing exceptional dental care.

This role requires direct in-office attendance and is not suitable for remote work. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in the smooth facilitation of our dental care processes, directly impacting the positive experiences of our patients.

Mon, Tues, Thurs

8:30am-5:00pm

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures and provide chair-side assistance.
  • Take and record patient medical and dental histories and vital signs, and provide postoperative instructions as prescribed by the dentist.
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment, ensuring that all necessary tools are ready for use.
  • Lead patients to the treatment room, make them comfortable, and prepare them for treatment.
  • Take dental radiographs (x-rays) and intra-oral photos when necessary.
  • Manage infection control protocols by properly sterilizing and preparing instruments and equipment.
  • Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment.
  • Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures.
  • Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling).
  • Maintain a neat and organized workspace and ensure the cleanliness of the office.
  • Create temporary crowns and assist with their fitting and adjustments.
  • Participate in office meetings, team trainings, and developmental workshops as required.

Requirements

  • Must be reliable 
  • At least 3 years of back office experience in a general dental office.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and precision.
  • Excellent skill in making and fitting temporary crowns, considering patient comfort and durability.
  • Neat, organized, and proficient in managing multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and team members.
  • Commitment to following OSHA and CDC clinical and safety guidelines to maintain a safe environment for team members and patients.
  • Ability to provide a high standard of patient care and ensure that each patient feels listened to and cared for.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to handle emergencies competently.
