The City of Whitewater is accepting applications for the position of Economic Development Coordinator. This important role provides comprehensive administrative and program support to the Economic Development Director and the Community Development Authority (CDA). The Coordinator helps advance the City’s economic development initiatives by supporting local businesses, housing programs, redevelopment projects, and community engagement efforts.
Primary Responsibilities
· Coordinate and track Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) activities, including surveys, data management, and reporting.
· Assist with housing and redevelopment programs such as down payment assistance and incentive initiatives.
· Research, prepare, and submit grant applications; monitor reporting requirements and compliance.
· Collect, analyze, and present economic and business data to support decision-making.
· Assist with marketing and outreach for CDA programs, housing opportunities, and redevelopment projects, including support for social media and website updates.
· Provide logistical support for meetings, community workshops, and engagement events.
· Serve as a contact for businesses, tenants, and residents seeking information on CDA activities.
· Provide administrative support including scheduling, document preparation, meeting minutes, and recordkeeping.
Qualifications
· Associate’s degree in public administration, business, marketing, or related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
· Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible administrative or program coordination experience; economic development or local government experience preferred.
· Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to analyze and summarize data for reports and presentations.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with databases and graphic design software is a plus.
· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a professional environment.
· Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain within four (4) months.
Compensation & Benefits
· Hourly Rate: $25.13 – $33.92
· Annual Salary: $52,270.40 – $70,553.60
· Full benefit package included. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
