Front Desk Medical Receptionist Location El Paso, TX :

Transmountain Primary Care is looking for a front desk medical receptionist for EVENING AND WEEKEND shifts for our clinic in Horizon. Shifts are from 2 pm to 8 pm Monday thru Friday, and 8 am to 2 pm on Saturday.

This is a full-time position with health + dental insurance benefits, 2 weeks paid time off, and 401k.

Job Duties:

• schedule patients and call ahead to confirm appointments
• greet patients
• register patients according to established protocols
• assist patients to complete all necessary forms and documentation including medical insurance
• verify patient information is accurate, including billing and insurance information
• inform patients of medical office procedures and policy
• maintain and manage patient records
• move patients through appointments as scheduled
• answer incoming calls and deal with inquiries
• transfer calls as required
• schedule patient appointments
• collect co-pays and payments
• schedule hospital admissions, tests, scans and outside appointments for patients
• obtain external medical reports as required by medical professionals
• complete other clerical duties as assigned
• maintain stock of forms and office supplies
• ensure reception area is well maintained, neat and clean
• safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality
• knowledge of how to request prior authorizations, referrals, etc.

Requirements:

• high school diploma or equivalent
• knowledge of medical terminology, procedures and diagnosis
• knowledge and understanding of HIPAA
• knowledge of computer and relevant software applications
• experience with eClinicalWorks is a plus
• knowledge of general administrative and clerical procedures
• working knowledge of healthcare insurance preferred

• bilingual Spanish & English is a must. Over a third of our patients do not speak any English. You will be alone at the front desk for the last 2 hours of the day and must be able to communicate with these patients unassisted.
• PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE AS A MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST OR OTHER RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OF 1+ YEAR STRONGLY PREFERRED, MUST BE ABLE TO PROVIDE REFERENCES. NON-MEDICAL EXPERIENCE IS NOT CONSIDERED RELEVANT.
