Job Description

Maintains water, heating, and plumbing systems in a County building; does related work as required. An employee in this class performs skilled work as a licensed Plumber at the journeyman level. The work is performed under general supervision. Detailed instructions as to the manner of performing each step are seldom given but work is checked on completion for satisfactory performance. This employee works on independent projects or with other employees as determined by the supervisor; Works at the highest level as required by the State of Delaware and New Castle County licensing boards; Installs and repairs hot and cold water, oil, steam, air, wastewater, or gas pipes and makes all necessary connections; Installs water service piping which includes the wiping and testing of joints; Installs and repairs a variety of pipe materials including PVC, CPVC, PET, HOPE, DIP, CIP, copper, black iron, galvanized, steel, etc. Please see the URL below for the complete job description.
