Job Opportunity: 

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has an exciting opportunity for a Product Owner with insurance domain expertise to join our Enterprise Business Solutions team. In this high-impact role, you’ll lead the design and delivery of scalable solutions that support key functions like Finance, Billing, and Insurance globally.

You’ll work closely with stakeholders to define product vision, prioritize features, and guide Agile teams in delivering automation and efficiency—enabling business growth without increasing headcount.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define product vision, elicit requirements, and align on priorities.
  • Document and maintain clear, actionable user stories, workflows, mockups, and data mappings.
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.
  • Guide solution design and delivery to balance speed, scalability, and ease of implementation.
  • Advocate for the customer experience throughout development and testing.
  • Lead a cross-functional, geographically distributed team, ensuring effective communication and execution.
  • Drive sprint planning, backlog grooming, and issue triage across development and QA.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance product quality and delivery efficiency.
  • Drive long-term product strategy aligned with KPIs and evolving business objectives.
  • Define and track product success metrics to guide decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to align roadmaps and remove delivery barriers.
  • Identify delivery risks and dependencies; implement mitigation plans proactively.
  • Own post-launch product performance, driving enhancements, defect triage, and support coordination.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience in product management and/or development or relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of Agile work management tools. Ex: Jira/Confluence, Azure Dev Ops etc.
  • Experience with a diagramming tool and various diagrams. Ex: flowcharts, swimlane diagrams, concept models, use case diagrams, user story mapping.
  • Familiarity with data models, data flows and documenting reporting requirements is a plus.
  • High degree of organization, individual initiative, personal accountability and comfort in working in a high paced delivery environment and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, subject matter experts and vendor resources.
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Proactive, self-starter with the balance of technical knowledge and insurance business acumen is required.
  • The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.

The base salary range for this position in Boston, MA is $120,000 – $160,000, along with annual bonus eligibility. Total compensation for a candidate is determined by their relevant skills, location, and experience.
