Job Description

We are now recruiting a Snr. Accountant to join our Finance team in Westport.

This role will report to the Assistant Financial Controller. As our new Snr. Accountant, you will have the opportunity to lead a business unit and guide our business leaders on all relevant financial matters, including strategy and process improvement.

Joining an established and talented team, you will plan, control, administer, interpret, and report the financial affairs of the site business unit to ensure continued growth and proficiency.

Depending on prior experience and skills you will also lead efforts of the team related to Cost Accounting or the development of new financial data analytics and reporting tools.

Responsibilities :

  • Financial lead and primary finance point of contact for one of the business units in Westport.
  • Providing financial support and guidance on all issues within the business unit.
  • Month end close activities – production process order reconciliations, absorption analysis, overhead spend analysis, headcount assessment, variance analysis and narrative etc.
  • Financial Planning and analysis for the business unit – including monthly LBE’s, annual Plan and LRP.
  • Monitoring, reviewing, and reporting of all key financial metrics within the business unit.
  • Monitor and report on operations performance with monthly/weekly KPI’s to Senior Management Team and cross functional depts.
  • Ensure all accounting and reporting procedures comply with SOX and internal control guidelines.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations through Blackline.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to deliver business objectives.
  • Deliver full compliance with all regulatory requirements, including the support of external and internal audits.
  • Collaborate and maintain stakeholder relationships with cross functional depts – Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing, Operational Excellence etc.

Qualifications

  • You will be a Qualified Accountant or Part Qualified and in the process of completing Professional Accounting Exams with one of the Recognized Accountancy Bodies.
  • You will have a Third level qualification in business/accounting.
  • Experience within a global manufacturing environment and Cost Accounting preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel required, experience with SAP, Blackline and Power BI preferred.
  • Proven experience working with a fast and dynamic Finance Team.
  • Proven record of building strong relationships with business partners at various levels in a cross functional organization.
  • Results driven, striving to meet all targets and metrics set by site/dept and division leaders.
