Microsoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) is the team behind Microsoft's expanding Cloud Infrastructure and responsible for powering Microsoft's "Intelligent Cloud" mission. SCHIE delivers the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Teams, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform globally with our server and data center infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability solutions. To achieve this goal, the Hardware, Infrastructure Management, and Fundamentals Engineering (HIFE) team is instrumental in defining and delivering operational measures of success for hardware manufacturing, improving the planning process, quality, delivery, scale and sustainability related to Microsoft cloud hardware. We are looking for a **Senior Director,** **Quality Engineer** **ing** **Leader,** to join the team to: **Responsibilities** + Lead a high-performing team of Quality Engineers to achieve operational excellence. + Develop and execute a comprehensive supplier quality management strategy. + Partner with cross-functional leaders to drive hardware quality across all platforms. + Provide technical leadership and swiftly resolve complex quality issues with a sense of urgency. + Define and drive Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) performance metrics to continually enhance product quality. **Qualifications** **Required Qualifications:**    + 11+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or systems administration + OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fieldAND 8+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or systems administration + OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 6+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or systems administration + OR DoctorateDegree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 5+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or systems administration. + 9+ years of experience in working with modern server architectures and/or their subsystems- including GPU, CPU, AI hardware, Memory, Motherboards and methods for root cause analysis and debugging.     + 9+ years of experience in leading a large-scale team or taskforce to resolve technical problems and solutions.  **Other Requirements:** + Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements arerequired for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.     **Preferred Qualifications:**   + Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer HW, Or System Engineering. + Leadership skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams and drive a call to action.  + 15+ years of experience in working with the modern server architectures and/or their subsystems - including GPU, CPU, AI hardware, Memory and methods for root cause analysis and debugging.  + Proficient communication and project management skills.  Reliability Engineering M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $161,600 - $286,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $209,600 - $314,400 per year.
