Stewarding Supervisor

The Post Oak Hotel is seeking a Stewarding Superviso r to join the only double Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas. We hire passionate and professional colleagues who genuinely delight our guests through curated and authentic experiences.

The Stewarding Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Stewarding Department, ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas, equipment, and dining areas. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and efficiency.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the stewarding team, including scheduling, assigning tasks, and monitoring performance
  • Train and develop stewarding staff on proper cleaning procedures, equipment usage, and safety protocols.
  • Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas, including food preparation areas, cooking equipment, dishwashing areas, and storage areas.
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and chemicals, and place orders as needed.
  • Oversee the proper use and maintenance of dishwashing machines, floor scrubbers, and other cleaning equipment.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure all orders are prepared and delivered on time and together
  • Ensures compliance with food handling, sanitation, and chemical handling standards.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, management, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Minimum 1 year of Stewarding Supervisor experience
  • Previous hotel experience, luxury or Forbes experience preferred
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays is required.
  • Physical demands: Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and prolonged extended periods of standing.
