Job Description

The Virtual Construction (VC) Lead Specialist is responsible for executing high-level modeling and coordination of mechanical systems using Building Information Modeling (BIM) platforms, primarily Revit. This role requires deep technical expertise in mechanical systems, a fabrication-level mindset, and advanced proficiency with BIM software tools. The VC Lead Specialist will focus on scope delineation, issue identification, RFI generation, and ensuring model accuracy against contract documents and project specifications. This individual will work closely with internal project teams, field superintendents, engineers, and outsource modelers to maintain project continuity, quality, and efficiency across multiple projects.
This position will collaborate closely with project managers, field superintendents, engineers, and outsourced modelers to ensure mechanical and plumbing systems are accurately modeled, coordinated, and compliant with codes and contract documents.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead high-level BIM modeling and coordination of mechanical (HVAC) systems
  • Translate contract drawings into accurate, fabrication-level Revit models
  • Identify design conflicts and generate RFIs for resolution
  • Support multiple projects with real-time updates and issue tracking
  • Conduct QA/QC checks to ensure model accuracy, LOD requirements, and constructability
  • Work closely with field teams to ensure models reflect real-world installation practices
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in HVAC design coordination and BIM standards
What You Bring:
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical (HVAC) construction, drafting, or virtual construction
  • Background in HVAC mechanical systems with field installation experience
  • Fabrication-level knowledge is a plus, but not required
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit and other BIM tools (Navisworks, BIM 360 a plus)
  • Solid understanding of HVAC system design and constructability principles
  • Strong skills in reading construction documents, generating RFIs, and coordinating with trades
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with high attention to detail

Benefits and Compensation:
  • The range for this position has been established $33.06 - $46.69 per hour and is US Engineering’s good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of the posting. The compensation offered to the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
  • Your total compensation will go beyond the number on your paycheck. Team members are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance as well as paid time off.
