Position Summary:

The Controller is the financial leader of the club and key business partner to the COO/GM. The Controller is responsible for supervising and leading the finance team and finance function, including monitoring cash flow, reviewing journal entries, providing statistical analysis and probability statements, compliance, budgeting and forecasting, and attending and participating in Board of Directors and Finance Committee meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Directing financial operations of the club, supervising accounting functions, and assisting the GM/COO with strategic matters related to budget management, cost-benefit analysis, forecasting, and internal controls.
• Developing policies controlling and coordinating accounting, auditing, budgeting, taxes, and related activities, records. Establishing and administering procedures and systems pertaining to financial matters.
• Preparing financial statements, forecasting and analyzing all administrative and managerial functions.
• Maintaining accurate accounting records; developing, analyzing, and interpreting statistical and accounting information.
• Evaluating operating results for budgets, costs, increased profit possibilities, policies of operation, revenues, and trends.
• Serving as a financial liaison to finance, audit, insurance and pension committees.
• Supervising staff, training, and professional development.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related degree; CPA and/or MBA is preferred.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience and a minimum of 2 years as a Controller; preferably with club operations.
• Ability to manage multiple project simultaneously with a strong attention to detail.
• Organized, ability to prioritize tasks, and self-starting.
• Proficient with Microsoft office and accounting software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
