Responsibilities

  • Prepare work plans, schedules, and budgets for department approval
  • Manage client relationships and contribute to business development
  • Monitor project timelines and budgets to ensure client satisfaction and productivity
  • Oversee quality control for water and wastewater design projects
  • Supervise project work and productivity
  • Achieve targets for profit, productivity, and deliverable schedules
  • Develop and execute engineering methods for water and wastewater designs
  • Collaborate with consultants, agencies, communities, and contractors on project planning and permitting
  • Prepare engineering calculations, plans, specifications, technical papers, and permit applications
  • Lead planning and design of water supply, transmission, and distribution projects
  • Create and review conceptual drawings and construction documents
  • Conduct studies and prepare designs and contract documents for water infrastructure projects
  • Review utility connection applications for municipal and utility clients
  • Act as Client Manager when needed, managing client duties and developing new business

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in environmental engineering or civil engineering
  • PE license
  • 8+ years of civil or environmental engineering experience with a concentration in water/wastewater design
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage clients and develop new business
  • Design experience with water and wastewater treatment plant processing and design preferred
  • Knowledgeable in permitting requirements and processes for water/wastewater collection and treatment projects
  • Experience with AutoCAD & OpenRoads (preferred)
  • Ability to manage a talented team of water and wastewater professionals
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions
